Director of Construction

Must have a Bachelors in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Engineering Technology, or relative degree or experience. The proper candidate will possess the ability of putting together a team to provide management services on renewable energy projects. The candidate must be a leader and have strong business development, management, and scheduling skills along with a successful history of construction projects. Must have experience in construction contracts, sub contracts, insurance, and project scheduling. It will be considered a HUGE plus to have Wind Development/Wind Energy history. Senior Electrical Engineer
A growing company in the renewable energy field is seeking a senior-level electrical engineer to work in the design and development of wind power and other renewable energy projects. The company’s portfolio of renewable-energy projects is large and offers an excellent opportunity for the right candidate who is seeking to contribute to this exciting and important sector of our energy industry. The successful candidate for this position will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the design of medium-voltage distribution and transmission systems, and will be familiar with the design principles that apply to electrical generating facilities. The ability to communicate effectively with others is essential.
Qualifications:
Must have experience with and a broad knowledge of topics and methods in electrical power engineering. Degree: Minimum BSEE, but MSEE is desired. Should be licensed by Illinois to practice engineering, and willing to seek licensure in other states.
Responsibilities:
Designs electrical power systems and subsystems, primarily in renewable power generation or industrial facilities. Works with customers and developers to determine project requirements. Coordinates project electrical interconnection issues with power utilities and Independent Transmission System Operators. Specifies and evaluates equipment such as switchgear, cables and substations, and solicits bids from suppliers. Estimates project costs. Assists with testing and start-up of projects. Performs electrical system studies. Reviews or determines protective relay settings. Applies computer software to determine proper device coordination in electrical distribution systems. Performs arc flash hazard analysis. Performs economic analysis to evaluate project alternatives. Provides support to customers and project managers as required. Must be willing and able to travel occasionally, primarily in Midwest region.
Specific Skills and Knowledge Required:
Experience in the design of renewable-energy projects such as wind farms is highly desirable. A working knowledge of issues and processes related to the interconnection of electrical generators to the electrical grid is highly desirable. Must have knowledge of the principles of the protection of electrical power systems. Knowledge of the design principles for power transmission lines and substations is desirable. Must have working knowledge of the principles of rotating machinery. Knowledge of harmonic analysis and dynamic system response requirements is highly desirable. Must possess the ability to interpret and create power systems drawings. Must have working knowledge of electrical codes and standards, especially as they pertain to electrical power generation installations. Must possess the skills and knowledge to perform power system studies and analysis, using SKM Power*Tools or similar computer software tools. Should be fluent in AutoCAD, as well as Microsoft Office and other standard software.
Wind Energy Senior Developer
EcoEnergy LLC is seeking an experienced wind energy project developer to help oversee the professional development of the company’s existing and future portfolio of wind projects in the Midwest.
The project developer will be responsible for managing existing wind project development in Illinois and will provide additional oversight of development in several surrounding states. This includes:
- Managing a staff of wind project associates who work locally to secure land rights
- Identifying and evaluating strategic sites for possible wind development
- Leading negotiations for land rights
- Overseeing project design
- Assisting with the project interconnection process
- Working with others in the organization to ensure good community acceptance of the project and a smooth permitting process
…all within a reasonable timeframe and budget.
Candidates shall have at least three to five years of wind project development experience. Strong technical and communication skills are essential.
